ok, i received a message telling me to do a tutorial on [link] ... the thing is...um, im quite lazy to redraw the parts back cuz i don't scan the wips for that... (i wanna do the color tutorial for johnny depp before but i've lost the drawing that i worked on that time )

so, im just gonna explain the colors that i used in that work
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

medium: oil pastel - brand: buncho
paper: just a white printer paper (you can use other paper as well)


skin:

i started using some light orange and brown mixed...leave some space for the white...then added some white and pink to the cheeks and some other part as well...just remember to do it part by part...starting from the forehead, cheeks, nose and last the chin.. after that, i redefine all the structure using dark brown.. then, splatter again some white to all the parts to get the better highlight.. (note: don't start on the eyes and mustache yet without finishing all the skin/face cuz the black color will ruin your work!!)


lip:

i usually love to use light purple and pink for the base and added some white to highlight it...then i defined it using red watercolor pencil...last some light orange to match with his skin color


eyes and mustache:

very simple since im working on a small scale drawing...i used black watercolor pencil to color the eyes so i dont ruin or mess with the other part...i also shade some light purple in the eyes (in the white part) using the purple watercolor pencil to show some shadow... for the mustache, i used dark brown pastel and layered with black pastel...layered again with white for some highlight on it


head band and hat:

for the headband, i mixed red, orange, light purple and pink...then, added some white for a little highlight...the pattern on it is done using black and purple watercolor pencil....ok, the trickiest part for me is the hat i started with very light yellow mixed with the yellow-brown color..then, added some brown and dark brown to the edge of it...to make it a little aged, i added some dark blue-green and red and purple..some light orange to define again a few of the parts and finally, scratched it with white pastel...


hair:

this is the last thing i do bcuz it has so much black, and black is the easiest color to mess up with other lighter color and make your drawing UGLY just save it for the last ok, i started with dark blue and dark brown at some part..leave space for part that needed highlight...then,i used white pastel for the highlight...layered and defined the hair strains using black pastel and black watercolor pencil...and last detailed again with white pastel at some part for highlight again...


background and touch up:

simply using black watercolor pencil for the background and touch up
